San Diego is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around San Diego is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

* **Great breakfast spot!** The bagels are always fresh, perfectly chewy, and they don't skimp on the cream cheese. Fast and friendly service, too. * **Highly recommend.** Huge selection of bagels and sandwiches. The staff is welcoming, and the service is incredibly quick. * **My new go-to bagel place.** Incredible texture, excellent breakfast sandwiches, and a really clean, cozy atmosphere.

The bagels are good, but the overall experience is consistently disorganized. I’ve visited both the University Avenue and 30th Street locations, and unfortunately, this seems to be a pattern at both. On Sunday, March 15, around 9:45 a.m., I stopped by the University Avenue location hoping for a better experience, but it was actually worse. There were only about six people ahead of me, yet it took roughly 15 minutes just to place my order. After ordering a simple toasted bagel with cream cheese around 10:00 a.m., I waited another 20+ minutes without receiving my food. After nearly 40 minutes in the store, I requested a refund, which was issued. The staff member (who appeared to be the manager) was polite and apologetic, which I appreciated. That said, the operational issues were hard to ignore: 1. Despite having multiple employees on the line, service was slow and lacked coordination. 2. Orders did not appear to be prepared in a clear or consistent sequence. 3. The toasting process seemed inefficient, with bagels being overcooked and scraped. 4. Online orders appeared to take priority over in-store customers, increasing wait times. 5. Some staff seemed to be in training without ad

Great bagels and very accessible location. Only gripe is that the wait was a bit long considering all I ordered was a few bagels with cream cheese, which is a bummer when I am rushing to get to work. Otherwise, a good bagel and good service. I would definitely come again

I’ve been coming to BCB Cafe for the last couple of years since moving into the neighborhood. The staff is always friendly and engaging, and the food is consistently good. It gets very busy on weekends, so I usually order ahead and pick up. When I’ve dined in during slower times, the experience has always been positive. If you’re planning to go in and order on a weekend, just be ready for at least a 45-minute wait. My favorite items are the tuna melt, the veggie bagel sandwich, and the ham, egg, and cheese bagel. The bagels are fresh and always hit the spot. I also like to grab one of their iced teas from the fountain β€” they make it fresh and it’s great. Their coffee and lattes are solid as well. If you join their loyalty program, you get a free bagel on your birthday, which is a nice perk.

This place is not good. I ordered a bacon egg and cheese on a sesame bagel. The bagel was dry with weird texture. The eggs and bacon were clearly made in the microwave. The bacon was chewy, the eggs were not good, and overall it was extremely bland with no flavor. I asked for a small side of cream cheese with the hopes it would improve the meal but they charge over $2 for a small 2 oz side of cream cheese. You are better off going across the street to Vons and getting some bagels there. Don’t waste your money.
